Michael I. Sirois is a mid-twenties acid jazz, spaced out trip-hop (yep, when was the last time you heard trip-hop) producer out of Boston, Ma. Better known as Jenova-7, this Boston native now currently living in Los Angeles, has been producing trip-hop, downtempo and instrumental hip-hop since 2008. His sound is described as “a dark, raw and cinematic style that crests and troughs along its short path, ranging from nightmarish to dreamlike in sound”. Think early 90s hip-hop, with influences from DJ Premier, DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, DJ Cam , Portishead and vintage sounds from the 60’s and 70’s.There’s definitely Jimi Hendrix type of bluesy guitar samples on quite a few of his tracks. Lately, Jenova-7 started directing films and directing his own music videos. Check out the links to his social media websites.
